As we move into the final month of 2021, things have been pretty busy across all of the areas I’m currently focusing on. I wanted to do a short update post today to talk about where everything is at and to thank a few people for their contributions. Sorry for the brevity, there’s so much to do at the moment!
YGG Pilipinas has hired 8 people and formed our first Ministry, the Ministry of Information. The MoI’s primary goal is to produce educational content for our community and guide our newest members through the world of crypto and P2E. Our player portal is at https://ygg.guide, and it will eventually become the definitive guide for everything Filipinos need in order to become citizens of the metaverse. I’ve been developing a bunch of pretty crazy ideas for 2022 and can’t wait to start announcing the best ones soon!
I launched NFTart collaborations with Heart Evangelista as well as 9-year-old wunderkind Sevi Agregado, and both drops sold at great prices. There may be one more really interesting collaboration in the works before the year ends, but I don’t want to jinx it so I’ll just leave it at that for now. My drop calendar for 2022 is already half full and I haven’t even started thinking about my own personal projects yet.
Cryptopop Art Guild has streamed a total of SEVEN mentoring sessions (thank you so much, Caroline Dy and Cody Hernandez!), and last week we launched our new guild lending program. Sponsored by our friends at OPGames (thank you, Chase Freo and Paul Gadi!), the guild received a grant of $50,000, and we’re using the funds to help our guild members buy better art equipment. It’s not free money though; we are lending the funds at a 12% p.a. interest rate, and repayments are made through the players’ axie income in SLP. So far we’ve deployed $10,000 of the total grant, and are processing new batches of loans every week. This is part of a longer-term experiment that I’ve been working on that asks the question: can you collateralize personal loans with regular metaversal income? If the CPAG version of this lending program does well, I have a feeling we’ll see a more generalized version amongst other guilds as well. On the business side, we are also working on a couple of deals with some new play-to-earn games that’ll keep our artists busy for a long time. Lots of stuff to look forward to in the coming year!
The crypto markets have been trading in a tight range this week, with Bitcoin still stuck below $60k and Ethereum rebounding to $4800 before dropping back to $4500. $YGG did pretty well over the last couple of days but lost some momentum and now continues to hover at $8. $AXS has struggled to return to its $140s range, and $SLP is starting to slump again below 3.00 pesos ($0.05). As of Nov 29th, the daily active user count of Axie Infinity is at 2.6M players with about 2.8M owners. This is a touch below its all-time-high of 2.7M daily actives, however, it is good to see that the number of axie owners continues to increase steadily. The community at large is still hoping for one last big year-end update from SkyMavis; it’s most likely going to be another update to the game, or a definitive announcement on when the $RON token will begin trading.
See you all next week, cryptofam! Have a great weekend!
Superb content as always Luis! By the way, Is there anyone developing an Axie Inifinity Manager's Training Fundamentals Course? Because I am in the process of producing one. I would love to hear your feedback on this if you have time. Details are here: https://www.tggaxie.xyz/managertraining
Cheers!!!
